How We Treat It: Evidence-Based, Personalized, and Human

Personalized Treatment That Works

You deserve better than a one-size-fits-all approach. You'll receive a personalized treatment plan based on your goals, symptoms, and preferences — whether that’s therapy-informed medication management, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, lifestyle strategies, or gentle titration for sensitive patients.

  • CBT-Informed Medication Management
  • Motivational Interviewing to Build Insight & Readiness
  • Short-Term Therapy Skills (CBT, SFBT)
  • Low-Dose Options for Sensitive Patients
  • Support for People Who’ve “Tried Everything”
  • Appointments available statewide via secure telehealth for patients located anywhere in Alaska, including rural and remote communities.

Affordable, Accessible Mental Health Care — Insurance or $100/Month

Membership Plan – Accessible, Personalized Care

We are in-network with Alaska State Medicaid, Aetna Behavioral Health, with contracts pending for Cigna & Moda Health.

If you’re uninsured or out-of-network, we offer a simple, transparent membership model to make mental health and primary care services more accessible.

$100/month membership includes:
  • A one-hour initial consultation for new patients or one 30-minute follow-up visit per month
  • If you need more than one visit in a given month, members may be eligible for a reduced rate on additional appointments, based on clinical need and availability.
  • Flexible scheduling with a board-certified healthcare provider
  • Cancel anytime — no pressure or hidden fees
  • Prescriptions sent to your local pharmacy or via CostPlus (typically ~$10–$40/year)
  • Membership plans are not insurance and do not replace coverage from health plans. Patients are responsible for any services not included in the membership.

Note on Therapy:
While I integrate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and other therapeutic techniques into care, I am not a full-time therapist. If you’re seeking weekly counseling, I’m happy to refer you to a trusted colleague.

Mental Health FAQ

Q: Can I get started without a referral?
A: Yes. You can book directly online — no referral needed. We’re here to make care simple, fast, and stigma-free.

Q: What mental health services are available at Be Well Berlin?
A: I offer comprehensive mental health care for adults — including medication management, CBT-based strategies, Motivational Interviewing, and a whole-person approach to care.

We treat conditions like anxiety, depression, insomnia, panic attacks, stress, trauma, substance use disorder, opioid use disorder, and more — we offer care for adults across Alaska, with services available via secure telehealth statewide — including Anchorage, Fairbanks, Mat-Su, Juneau, Homer, and rural communities.
We’ll help you weigh the benefits and potential side effects of each option — and adjust based on your specific needs and medical history.
💬 “We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. You deserve a plan that actually fits your life.”

Q: Do you offer therapy?
A: I integrate therapeutic skills — like CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Motivational Interviewing, and brief supportive counseling — into your care. While I’m not a full-time therapist, I’m often a great fit for patients who want structure, accountability, medication support, and someone who truly listens.

Q: Are you a psychiatrist?
A: No — I’m a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) with advanced training in mental health care. I’ve been treating behavioral health conditions since 2017, and I’m currently completing a Primary Care Psychiatry Fellowship at UCI School of Medicine.
If your needs require a higher level of psychiatric care, I’ll help coordinate a referral to a trusted provider.

Q: What training do you have in mental health care?
A: I’ve been treating anxiety, ADHD, depression, and insomnia in primary care since 2017, using a whole-person approach rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed care.

In 2022, I began treating Substance Use Disorders, which deepened my understanding of how closely mental health and addiction are linked. It also showed me that to truly serve this population — and all patients navigating complex behavioral health needs — I needed to expand my training. Since then, I’ve pursued formal education in CBT, MI, and primary care psychiatry to better support patients with co-occurring conditions.

I’m currently completing a Primary Care Psychiatry Fellowship at UCI School of Medicine, which strengthens my ability to provide thoughtful, evidence-based treatment in the primary care setting.

My clinical expertise is informed by both professional experience and personal insight — and my goal is always to offer care that is compassionate, collaborative, and effective.

Q: What if I’ve tried medications before and they didn’t work?
A: You’re not alone — and we specialize in helping people who’ve had difficult past experiences with treatment.

Many providers start too aggressively, overlook important interactions, or miss opportunities to combine therapies in ways that work better together.
At Be Well Berlin, we take a gentle, personalized approach, especially for people with treatment-resistant depression, complex trauma, or sensitivity to medications. Together, we’ll find what works for you.
Q: How much does mental health care cost without insurance?
A: If you’re uninsured or out-of-network, our $100/month membership is the best option. It includes up to 1 appointment per month, prescription management, and ongoing access to personalized care. If more than one appointment per month is required, you are eligible for a 50% discount on additional follow up appointments.  You can cancel anytime.

Q: Can I cancel the membership if I need to?
A: Yes — you can cancel or pause your membership anytime. There are no contracts or penalties.
⚠️ If you cancel and later want to reactivate within 3 months, there’s a $50 reactivation fee to re-start the Monthly Membership.

Q: Is Alaska Medicaid accepted via telehealth?
A: Yes! We accept Alaska Medicaid for telehealth mental health services. Whether you live in Anchorage, Fairbanks, the Kenai Peninsula, or a remote Alaska village, you can receive covered care from the comfort of your home.

Q: Do I need to live in Anchorage to receive care?

A: No—you do not need to live in Anchorage to access care. Be Well Berlin offers statewide telehealth appointments, so you can connect with a provider from anywhere in Alaska, including Homer, Mat-Su, Juneau, and rural areas with internet or cell service.

Q: How does telehealth work in rural Alaska?

A: Our HIPAA-compliant video visits are designed to work even in rural or remote Alaska. You’ll need a smartphone, tablet, or computer with internet access (Wi-Fi or data). We work with you to ensure a private, secure connection—no driving, long waits, or travel to Anchorage required.
